Here’s a little peek of one of my newest paintings. Please come by and meet me and my work this weekend during the studio tour, November 15th and 16th from 11am-5pm. This piece, titled Labyrinth, was inspired by my studies about the brain and its ability to regenerate new cells and connections.

I am looking forward to a wonderful evening at the Davenport Hotel put on by the Museum of Arts and Culture this Saturday November 8th. I am excited that my piece was chosen for inclusion in the 2014 Art Auction. I am proud to be placed along side some of the greatest artist of the Spokane region of which I will always consider my home. If you weren’t able to get tickets to what I have heard is a sold out event then please try again next year. It is an incredible evening for a worthy cause, a vital WA museum.
My painting, Under the Bridge Some Play, speaks of my family memories of Spokane, where my husband and I raised our children and of stories I hear from my friends that only they can repeat; those stories of mischievous children finding trouble where none seems clear. This in turn brings back my own childhood that undeniably contained some naughtiness as well and of the fact that undisclosed mischief remains in the memories of my children and their children as well.

The past several months I have been reading alot about the gut and the brain, their connection to each other and to our overall state of health. The images created in my head are beginning to come out on canvas in a sort of abstract form. I have also started a little series of my interpretation of what my good bacteria might look like. These little creatures are in need of some lovin’ and some good food. My new paintings will have their first showing in my home studio on November 15-16th from 11-5pm during the Tri City Artists Open Studio Tour. Come by and meet me and my art then head out to the other artists on the tour.
